System Engineer II

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Must be able to develop and integrate concepts that involve requirements, design, prototyping, production, testing, training and logistics support in all phases of the weapon system life cycle, including all aspects of technical program that involve trade-off of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, supportability, testability and other engineering requirements. Must be able to perform reviews of requirements and translates them into technical specifications of equipment, software, facilities, data and personnel; provide technical direction and guidance to lower level technical personnel as necessary. Experience will include technical involvement as applicable in one or more of the following: Research, design, development, production, testing, and performance of theoretical studies, analysis of system design, and recommendations to expand performance and enhance design of applicable system. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of overseeing system design, integration, and/or analytical projects. Must have experience and skills necessary to perform the following tasks: 1) provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems; 2) perform in all phases of hardware/software analysis, evaluations, development, and integration/implementation; 3) develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed; and 4) develop system specifications and system interface specifications.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system;
  • Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems;
  • Responsible for the instruction, assigning, and overseeing the performance of less experienced software systems engineers;
  • Coordinate the activities of the software engineering department with other sections of DMA’s information systems operation; and
  • Train and supervise subordinate systems engineers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics or physical science.

Seven (7) years direct experience in a relevant engineering activity is required (systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes)
 
Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
