Software Engineer II

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must have progressive experience in computer simulation, client-server architectures, databases, high-order programming languages, and operating systems. In addition, must: 1) provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex software engineering problems; 2) perform in all phases of software development, integration/implementation, and analysis; 3) participate in hardware/software evaluations; and 4) develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed; 4) Represent the DMAero Engineering Team during Interface with government and civilian customers on a regular basis.

May travel to local customer sites to provide technical support and assist in problem resolution.

All positions start in Warner Robins GA with the opportunity, if employee wishes, to relocate to Huntsville Alabama next year.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex software engineering problems;
  • Analyzing data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems;
  • Monitoring system performance;
  • Communicating key project data to team members and building cohesion among teams;
  • Perform in all phases of software development, integration/implementation, and analysis;
  • Participate in software reviews and evaluations;
  • Develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed;
  • Evaluate systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of software and systems.
  • Confirm capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties;
  • Broad experience with computer systems and applications such as C++ or Java;
  • Testing new software and fixing bugs;
  • Assure product quality by designing software testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities;
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests;
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations;
  • Maintain product data base by writing computer programs; entering data;
  • Developing and executing project plans;
  • Applying mathematics and statistics to problem-solving initiatives;
  • Complete projects by training and guiding technicians;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies;
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
  • Work closely with Technicians to provide guidance and support;
  • Creating innovative solutions to meet our company’s technical needs;
  • Engineering tools and software;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Hands-on programming experience using relevant languages.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering OR mathematics/physical science degree.

Five (5) years of direct experience in a relevant engineering activity is required.

Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
